Shirley Madge Williams
Shirley Madge Williams was born November 16, 1936, in Paris, TN. She was the daughter of Ira Howard Williams and Madge Townsend Williams.
She departed this life, surrounded by her family, at her home in Caruthersville, MO, on February 3, 2025. She was 88 years old.
Shirley was married to Mr. Jimmy Harmon and they were parents to 4 sons. She later married Mr. Les Williams. They both preceded her in death.
She was a hard worker and had several different jobs – she worked at Brown Shoe, the Casanova, the Chaparal, and U.S. Supply. Some of her best work and probably hardest, came as a military wife and mother to her four boys.
Shirley loved life and loved living it to the fullest. She was always ready for laugher and fun. Cooking was one of the things that she enjoyed and teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her passion. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To the grandkids and greats, she was known as “Momma Shirley.”
She was a faithful member of Caruthersville Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by 4 sons, Johnny Howard Harmon (Ann) of Caruthersville, MO, James Michael Harmon (Angie) of Caruthersville, MO, Jerry Wayne Harmon (Mairianne) of Caruthersville, MO and Dennis Ryan Harmon of Caruthersville, MO, 1 sister-in-law who she considered a sister, Louise Lee, 1 brother-in-law, Jack Harmon (Ann), 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, other relatives and many friends
She was preceded in death by her parents – Ira and Madge Williams, her husband – Les Williams, her brother – Carl Howard Williams, and a grandson – Derick Lancaster
Funeral services will be Friday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Caruthersville Wesleyan Church. Rev. Kenny Lee will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Cemetery
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials please be given to Caruthersville Humane Society.
Serving as pall bearers will be, Jeremy Harmon, Richard Harmon, Michael Harmon, Justin Harmon, Brady Wyatt, Travis Harmon, Milo Wyatt, and Bryce Strawn
Honorary pall bearers: Judge Bryon Luber and Baughn Merideth
