Nola Alberta Edington-Pruitt, known for her feisty spirit and love for family, passed away at 86. A beloved community member, she co-owned Pruitt's Grocery and cherished her time with loved ones.

Nola Alberta Edington-Pruitt, of Steele, MO passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born to Noble and Genola Edington on October 21, 1938.

She was united in marriage to Lonnie Gene Pruitt in November 1954 and they later welcomed a son, Randy Gene Pruitt, of Holland MO. She and Lonnie opened Pruitt’s Grocery where she worked and retired after many years. She loved and adored her family. She loved being sassy and feisty, she loved sewing, going to the dances, and the Mississippi County Senior Citizens Center in Blytheville, AR. She loved clothes, shoes, and shopping at Goodwill with her sister Carolyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie, of 45 years; and one brother, Nolan Edington.

Alberta, or “Bert” as she was called by everyone who knew her, leaves her son, Randy Pruitt, of Holland, MO.

Three grandchildren, Krysten Barnard (Wesley), Leah Matthews (Ben) and Laura Lovins (Kenny).

Six great-grandchildren: Addison and Avery Winstead, Lawson, Wyatt and Nolan Matthews, and Hadley Lovins.

She leaves behind two sisters, Carolyn Green and Shelby Culp, and two brothers, Mike Edington and Donnie Edington. And many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, MO., with Brother Dave Lewelling officiating. The visitation was held from 12-2 the same day as the funeral. The pallbearers were Steve Butler, Steve Worrell, Wesley Barnard, Kenny Lovins, David Greene, and Auggie Nelson. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.
