Charles Talmiedge Hoskins, a beloved farmer from Pemiscot County, MO, passed away at 80. Known for his love of laughter and community, he leaves behind a large family and many friends. Services were held at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Charles Talmiedge Hoskins

Charles Talmiedge Hoskins was born on February 5, 1945 in Pemiscot County, MO to Charley Louis Hoskins and Eva Lou Brigance Hoskins. He passed away February 23, 2025 in Hayti, MO at the age of 80.

Charles was a farmer. He graduated high school in Deering, MO. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

It will be remembered that he loved people and loved to laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Hoskins, one niece, Wende Hoskins Gatewood, and one son, Lewis Lanier Lester.

Survivors include, three children, Chuck Hoskins and Allison of Hillsboro, MO, Brittney Hoskins, of Steele, MO and Rex Allen Lester of Southaven, MS, one brother, Wendell Hoskins and Pat of Steele, one sister, Rebecca Wilfong and Herman “Butch” of Wappapello, MO, five grandchildren, Hope Whaley and Gabe, Abigail Hoskin, Grace Hoskins, Esther Hoskins and Oliver Conoy, two great grandchildren, Judah and Myrah Whaley and many other relatives and friends.

Services were held March 1, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Steele, MO with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial was in the Hoskins Family Cemetery in Steele. Pallbearers were Jimmy Eastburn, James Morris, Marc Hoskins, Thomas Hoskins, Louis Hoskins and Matthew Hoskins.
