It is only two days until election day! Here at the nursing center, we have al- ready voted absentee ballot.
I read and listened to what was being said about the presidential candidates and I prayed, asking God for whom I should vote. To the best of my ability, I prayed and hopefully I made the better choice. Our country needs help! God's Word is being ignored, even hated and many of the ideals on which America was founded have fallen by the way- side.
America, like our individual lives, contains billions of lives and the remedy for each is the same! The need for each life is the same! We are alienated from God because of sin in our life and we are reaping the consequences of not putting God and His will first ln our lives!
There is no way to be a happy, moral person if God's will is not followed. This is true for every human being and it is also true for our country.
Our country is made up of people to whom the "Call of God" has been given. These are private in nature and determined by choice. Our God is a just God and He always gives the individual a chance to be saved.
In fact, many times He gives us 'chance after chance'. Someone told me today that it doesn't matter who wins the election be- cause God has con- trol. I believe it does matter and that how we choose to con- duct our lives makes a real differ- ence. Whoever becomes President has many decisions to make and I hope they will consult with the Lord and ask for His guidance. Ir does matter how we live and who is doing the leading.
Kate Smith sang the well- known song "God Bless America". This should be the prayer of every American today."God Bless America, land that I love, Stand beside her and guide her.
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains to the prairies, To the oceans white with foam, God bless America, My Home, sweet Home, God Bless America, my Home, sweet Home"!
